Although it is generally always possible to find a compact fluorescent replacement for a standard light bulb, care should be taken with applications involving safety and security. Sometimes the time taken for a CFL to reach full brightness is too long to be used in a safety lighting system or not ideal for motion sensor driven security lighting.
